Hello!
I’m Sarah. I’m a writer with an interest in culture, food, art, and ecology.
You can read “The Breaking,” my essay on art, infertility, and longing, in Image Journal, and my essay on mothers, complexity, and the art of Salvador Dalí in the North American Review. My essay “Tunnel to the Sky” was a finalist for the 2021 VanderMey Nonfiction Prize and I have an MFA in nonfiction from Seattle Pacific University. I’m currently seeking a literary agent for my first book, a work of narrative nonfiction on ways of knowing.
I am available for freelance writing in personal essay, memoir, arts, food, and ecology. I teach workshops and lead retreats for new and experienced writers in writing about art and cultural objects, nature, personal essay, memoir, and developing a practice of curiosity.
